  3. This file contains important installation/usage notes!

  5. We recommend that all users read through this file first,
  6. before attempting to install or run WorldTime 2.0.

  8. Users new to WorldTime should also read through the ASCII
  9. text file, WTIME20.TXT, which contains more detailed program
  10. information.

  13. INTRODUCTION
  14. ------------
  15. WorldTime for Windows is an easy-to-use world clock utility
  16. for the Microsoft Windows operating environment.  WorldTime
  17. allows you to track the current time in over 150 metropolitan
  18. and geographic locations around the world.

  21. VIDEO MODE NOTES
  22. ----- ---- -----
  23. WorldTime for Windows (Version 2.0) requires a minimum
  24. EGA-resolution, and will display adequately under that
  25. 640x350 standard.  However, we strongly recommend running
  26. WorldTime at standard VGA (640x480) or Super-VGA (800x600).

  28. We generally recommend making use of the VGA and Super-VGA
  29. drivers supplied with Microsoft Windows; in testing, these
  30. video drivers actually outperform many third-party drivers
  31. supplied with VGA and Super-VGA graphics cards.
  32.  
  33. Because of reported incompatibilities with certain third-
  34. party video drivers, we DO NOT recommend running WorldTime
  35. at resolutions greater than 800x600.

  38. ASCII text file, WTIME20.TXT.

  43. The WorldTime 2.0 package consists of five files:

  52. READ ALL ABOUT IT
  53. ---- --- ----- --
  54. Product documentation is contained in the WTIME20.TXT file.  This
  55. is an ASCII text file which can be easily loaded and viewed with
  56. Windows Notepad, Windows Write, or any word processor or text
  57. editor that supports the ASCII text format.  This file includes a
  58. program description, instructions, and technical notes.
  59.  
  60. Hypertext program documentation is supplied in the WTIME20.HLP
  61. file.  This is a Windows Help System format file, which can be
  62. loaded and viewed with Windows Help -- and is directly accessed
  63. from within WorldTime via the menu bar "Help/Contents" command.
  64.  
  65. Both of these files contain all the information you need to
  66. install and run this program.  The Windows Help System includes
  67. the provision for easily printing any topic or topics from the
  68. WTIME20.HLP file.  This handy feature can be used to turn your
  69. "manual on disk" into hard copy for future reference.

  72. QUICK & DIRTY START-UP
  73. ----- - ----- --------
  74. The best thing you can do before attempting to install or run
  75. WorldTime for Windows is to read this file in its entirety, and
  76. then read the WTIME20.TXT file as well.  However, you may want
  77. to get "up and running" right away.  If this is the case, and
  78. you are an experienced computer user comfortable with DOS
  79. commands, the information in this section might be all you need
  80. to get started...

  82. Again, once WorldTime is installed, you can always refer back
  83. to the WTIME20.TXT file -- or make use of WorldTime's help
  84. file, WTIME20.HLP via the Windows Help System (accessed from
  85. WorldTime's menu bar "Help/Contents" command).

  87. First, we recommend that you make a backup copy of the master
  88. program disk(s) before installing or running WorldTime.
  89. We also recommend that this program be installed to, and run
  90. from, a hard disk.
  91.  
  92. To get this program loaded and running with a minimum of
  93. fuss, simply create a new directory or subdirectory on your
  94. hard disk (e.g., C:\WTIME or C:\WINAPPS\WTIME) and copy the
  95. entire contents of your master disk(s) to that new directory.

  97. From Microsoft Windows, you can run this program from File
  98. Manager by "double-clicking" the WTIME20.EXE file entry or by
  99. selecting the WTIME20.EXE file entry and issuing the menu bar
  100. "File/Run" command.

  102. Of course, WorldTime's icon can be easily installed into a
  103. new or existing Program Manager group for quick, one-step
  104. running.

  107. PRODUCT REGISTRATION
  108. ------- ------------
  109. WorldTime for Windows (version 2.0) is shareware, not freeware.
  110.  
  111. Complete registration information, including printable
  112. registration forms, is provided in the WTIME20.HLP file shipped
  113. with the shareware version of WorldTime.  The .HLP file is
  114. accessed via the Windows Help System -- menu bar command
  115. "Help/Contents."  Registration information is also provided in
  116. the WTIME20.TXT ASCII text file.
